All of our experience in affordable housing has been direct and hands-on. Working for nonprofits and for a small, targeted development firm, we have actively overseen and held responsibility for every aspect of a project, from site acquisition through punch list, lease-up through maintenance and asset management, including retail and community facility fit-outs, lease negotiations, insurance, and just about anything else you can think of. This means we fully understand and appreciate the impact of decisions made during design, the regulations that govern development and operations, the multiple layers of funding required, and how to shepherd and cajole the designers, bankers and regulators to safely steward a project into completion.
